The Azorean executive justifies the adjustment in the maximum sales price to the public with “recent variations in the international market of reference prices for petroleum and energy products”.

From December 1, gasoline will cost 1.523 euros per litre in the Azores, 0.9 cents more than in November.

The price of diesel is set at €1.423 per litre in December, registering an increase of 1.9 cents compared to the previous month.

The increase comes after petrol recorded a drop of six cents in the previous two months and diesel reduced its price by 4.4 cents in the same period.

On June 5, the Azorean executive increased the Tax on Petroleum and Energy Products (ISP) rate by 2.7 cents on gasoline and 10 cents on diesel.

“Without prejudice to the stability policy that we intend to continue promoting in public fuel sales prices, it is important to introduce improvements to the pricing system in force in the Autonomous Region of the Azores”, he explained.

ISP is charged 49.2 cents per litre for gasoline and 34.2 cents for diesel.
