The game against Ukraine, whose time and information will be released shortly by the FPF, will be the second for the women's team at the Bessa stadium, which, on June 24, 1983, was the stage of the game between Portugal-Italy (0-2).
In statements released by the FPF press office, the mayor of Porto, Rui Moreira, applauded the team's return to Boavista.
“Porto, the city of the first national football champions, will offer its traditional and enthusiastic support to the National Team, in its last preparation game in Portuguese territory, before the departure for the World Cup. I am convinced that these footballers will do everything to honour our country and our football, in New Zealand and Australia, where they will head a few days later”, he said.
The president of Boavista, Vítor Murta, was honoured with the choice of Bessa's stadium and promised "an excellent atmosphere in the stands".
The Women's World Cup will take place in New Zealand and Australia, between 20 July and 20 August.
The Portuguese team, which makes its debut in the World Cups, will start by facing the Netherlands (July 23), then Vietnam (27) and, in the last game of group E, the United States (August 1).
