The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) has raised to 18 the districts of mainland Portugal that are currently under a yellow weather warning due to the forecast of thunderstorms and showers, sometimes heavy and occasionally hail.

The 18 mainland districts will be under a yellow warning between 1pm and 6pm today.
On Friday, the IPMA had placed the districts of Bragança, Viseu, Guarda, Vila Real, Setúbal, Santarém, Leiria, Lisbon, Castelo Branco, Aveiro, Coimbra, Viana do Castelo, Braga, Porto, Faro and Beja under yellow warning.
In a statement sent today, the yellow warning is extended to the districts of Évora and Portalegre.
