Norway has installed the world’s northernmost ground solar panels despite the region being plunged in round-the-clock darkness all winter.

According to euronews, the pilot project is aiming to see if the technology can be used by some 1,500 other sites in the Arctic, reducing their need for diesel power during the sunny months.
