“In August 2023, the average value of total remuneration that was declared for dependent work stood at 1,388.99 euros”, indicates the statistical summary prepared by the Strategy and Planning Office (GEP) of the Ministry of Labor, Solidarity and Security Social.
According to the document, in year-on-year terms, there was an increase of 5.1% but, in relation to July, there was a reduction of 8.8% “due to the payment of holiday allowances in previous months”.
The average salary increase per worker from January to August was 7.4%, “a period in which there was a 5.0% growth in employment for dependent work”, which can be read in the GEP document.
Completely out of reality the average salary that the news is describing. Every one knows that over 80% of the population lives with near 800eur per month or less.
