JYSK, an international chain specialising in furniture and home decor, has reaffirmed its commitment to the national market. As part of its expansion plan, it plans to open more than 30 new stores in Portugal and Spain during the 2024-2025 fiscal year, with openings scheduled for the first few months of the year in Ovar, Sintra and Vila Nova de Gaia.
The brand has been expanding its offering to several locations in Portugal, promoting, with each new opening, the creation of jobs in the regions where it is established. With 2,000 employees in Portugal and Spain, JYSK expects to create 400 new jobs this year, while continuing to invest in the development of its teams, offering new career opportunities.
"We are proud to continue growing towards our goal of reaching 80 stores in Portugal in the coming years. Our purpose is to bring Scandinavian quality and design, together with the essence of Danish hygge, to every corner of Portugal", says Carlos Haba, Director of JYSK Portugal and Spain.
In the last fiscal year (2023-2024), Portugal recorded an expressive performance, consolidating itself as one of the regions with the highest growth in JYSK's European market. The company's turnover in Portugal reached 44.9 million euros, a significant increase of 27.2% compared to the previous year.
Another low-quality chain store. How boring.
