According to a comment made by three-time Formula 1 world champion driver, Max Verstappen, last Sunday, his schedule this week will include a visit to the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve (AIA), in Portimão.

Verstappen revealed at the end of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, in conversation with Fernando Alonso, that he will be in Portimão, today, 28 November, and will be linked to a test day for the Porsche 911 GT3.
According to a report by Região Sul this is a private session and not open to the public, as the session has been organised by a third party.

So someone paid him to visit Algarve. Drivers take personal appearance payments all the time, so he is probably making €20-26,000 to be there, (my estimate, but my exposure to these sponsor’s payments is 15 years ago).
