New figures published by Statistics Netherlands revealed the growth in GDP surpassed the 0.3 percent market predictions and was buoyed by a strong rebound in household consumption (1.9 percent against -0.2 percent in G3), and further government spending (0.7 percent against 1.3 percent).
The news will be welcome to the government and Dutch households alike, as it follows a three-quarter period of economic contraction since the start of the last year.
