Conversely, foreigners working in Portugal sent, in the first three months of this year, 149.5 million euros, an increase of 3.5% compared to the 144.3 million sent from January to March last year.

Looking just at March, remittances from immigrants in Portugal fell by 2.7%, from 52.2 million euros to 50.8 million euros.

Remittances from Portuguese workers abroad increased by 2.5%, rising from 303.3 million euros in March last year to 310.9 million in March this year.
