“Starting this summer, customers on select long-haul international flights equipped with Viasat will be able to enjoy fast, free Wi-Fi presented by T-Mobile – bringing the airline closer to its goal of offering free Wi-Fi across its entire global fleet,” the airline said in a statement.
Delta Air Lines revealed that it currently offers Wi-Fi on nearly 700 aircraft, which represents more than 90% of the airline’s mainline domestic fleet.
Delta Air Lines announced that fast, free Wi-Fi was added to its routes to France last month, with the service expected to be rolled out to Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Spain and Italy later this month.
Fast, free Wi-Fi will be added to flights to Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Greece, Portugal, Sweden and Switzerland in September, while South America, including Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru, will begin offering the service in October, as will Hawaii.
Delta Air Lines flights with fast, free Wi-Fi are expected to start offering service to Nigeria, Ghana and Senegal from December, while Asia, Australia and New Zealand, as well as South Africa, are expected to have the service from mid-2025.
