According to a source from the Porto Sub-Regional Command, the alert was given at around 9:37 am, and the French Eurofighter, with four hours of fuel and two occupants, landed safely at around 10:10 am.
Following the warning of damage and smoke in the cockpit, "alert level 2 (yellow) until safe landing was activated."
There were 13 fire brigades in the region on standby, with a total of 40 operational personnel and 15 vehicles, the source added.
