In the municipality of Leiria, Samvipaz's private social solidarity organisation is investing 1 million euros in constructing a nursery and a centre for recreational activities. According to the publication in the Official Gazette, the nursery is intended for 46 children, has a base investment price of 1,005,000 euros (VAT excluded), and should be completed in 420 days.

As Marília Ferreira, Samvipaz’s chairwoman told Lusa News agency, “We have been working towards building a day-care centre and a home for a long time, and we had even submitted an application to the RRP [Recovery and Resilience Plan] for the two new services three years ago”.

It makes “perfect sense to put all the children’s space in the new one” and reserve the old space for the elderly as it is a separate building from the one Samvipaz now occupies. The nursery, which can fit 46 children, is partially funded by the PRR and the Leiria City Council and the remaining amount comes from personal income and bank loans.

According to Marília Ferreira, the goal is to begin the work "at the beginning of January," as soon as the tender phase is over, and the work is awarded. The chairwoman continued by saying, "Now, with the municipality of Leiria's support and with a new application to the PRR, we have proposed to move forward with the nursery." The future building will also contain a room for the reinstallation of the leisure activities centre (ATL).
