IPMA's yellow warning for “heavy showers, occasionally accompanied by thunderstorms, especially near the mountains”, has been in effect since 2pm and ends at 6pm, reads a statement from the institute.
At the end of last week, Faro was placed under orange warning due to heavy rain which, especially in the eastern (eastern) Algarve, caused flooding, forcing the closure of roads and the suspension of railway traffic on a section of the Algarve Line.
The bad weather that occurred between Thursday and Saturday in the region also left two people homeless in Castro Marim, with two people being rescued in Tavira and a third, in Olhão, after falling into a river.
