A team from the Institut National de Archéologiques Préventives believes more of the screen’s remains lie beneath the choir itself, but it was outside the scope of the dig site.

For now, the rest of the rood screen will remain under the newly-opened building, and no mission to recover them has been established so that the nation can enjoy its beloved cathedral without disruption.
