The north: Some intermittent cloud cover is forecast for Christmas day when temperatures will peak at highs of 18 degrees and drop to lows of 5 degrees. Thursday and Friday are to be dry, bright and with no clouds or chance of rain with average highs of 17 degrees and lows of 3 degrees.
The centre: The clear skies are to continue with highs of 15 degrees and lows of 7 degrees expected on Christmas day. Some intermittent cloud cover is predicted on Friday when it will be feeling cooler at night with lows dropping to 5 degrees.
The south: Hazy high cloud is forecast for Christmas day and the 26th, with temperatures peaking at 19 degrees and dropping down to average lows of 11 degrees. Friday and Saturday are to be bright and sunny with no chance of rain.
Madeira: Rain is to hold off on Christmas day, although there will still be a chance of some showers with temperatures peaking at 23 degrees and dropping to lows of 18 degrees. Rain is to return on Thursday and to continue on Friday.
The Azores: A mild Christmas day is on the cards with highs of 18 degrees and lows of 13 degrees with a chance of rain throughout the day. The heavy cloud is to continue on Thursday and Friday with the chance of rain increasing as the week progresses.
