Sérgio Costa, the mayor of Guarda, stated that Aho Foods, a Brazilian-owned business company, will purchase 23 lots of the Guarda logistics platform to establish a facility in the agri-food industry. The initiative, which will create pioneering food products for the European and American markets and requires an investment of 116 thousand euros, hopes to create around 160 jobs.

As Sérgio Costa revealed, “It is a business group with seven factories and employing around a thousand people in the state of São Paulo. It is a supplier to highly regarded international brands, having had a turnover of around 40 million euros in 2023, and has now decided to develop a new manufacturing unit in Guarda”.

The agri-food industry is an investment which is very important for the city, not only because of the direct jobs created but also because of everything that can help boost Guarda’s economy and companies, the mayor of Guarda emphasised. As Sérgio Costa added, “This is a great Christmas gift from this executive to Guarda because we committed ourselves to make this deal happen and now we hope it can become a reality in the near future”.

Sérgio Costa claims that the project is now in development and will cost several million dollars.
