In addition to the fun bowling games, we held our annual charitable raffle and raised a total of €325 for a local charity. All the raffle prizes were donated by club members. The funds raised were donated to the Cassa de Nossa Senhora da Conceição (CNSC) which is a local girl’s home in Portimão. We first met some of the girls when they sang Christmas carols on the cliff in Carvoeiro and wanted to assist them financially. Alvor Bowls Club welcomes visitors and new members playing both flat green and crown green bowls, and full details can be found on our website (www.alvorbowlsclub.com). Tuition and equipment can be provided for new bowlers.
