According to Sul Informação, a new Starbucks store will open tomorrow (4th March) in Praça Dom Francisco Gomes, in downtown Faro.
This will be the second store in the Algarve capital, with one already in the Fórum Algarve shopping centre.
The store has an area of 170 square meters and the capacity to seat 55 customers.
On its opening day, the first 100 customers to visit the store will receive an exclusive offer, designed for this opening.
Additionally, as part of Starbucks’ “Openings with a Cause” project, all proceeds from the new store’s opening day will go to the Dom Francisco Gomes Institute.
“In addition to strengthening our presence in the Algarve, we are very excited about this new opening, located in a central location in Faro. In this space, coffee lovers will be able to enjoy a unique experience, in a welcoming and innovative environment, perfect for both socialising and for those looking for a quiet place to work. This new store is an expression of our commitment to creating an environment where every detail contributes to a memorable experience, offering our customers the true essence of Starbucks”, says António Romero, general manager of Starbucks Portugal and Spain.
Ugh!! We would love to see the Starbucks in Cascais close. Who needs expensive, burnt coffee from the US?

In this country of inexpensive and beautiful cafes, why would anyone in their right mind go to a bland, corporate, shockingly overpriced Starbucks? I have tried to understand, but I simply don't get it.

Is this news or a press release from Starbucks?

Real coffee drinkers do not go to Starbucks.
The beans are over roasted and that is why they add sugar and syrup shops.
Portugal is developing a great coffee culture with shops like Al-Gharb in Albufeira (my favorite) Black and White in Lagos to name a few. I believe there is a shop in Porto that was listed as one of the 50 best coffee shops in Europe.
If you want a real coffee there are better choices
