There are two hotels in the Algarve where it is cheaper to stay for all of March compared to paying rent, according to a report by Postal.

For example, if you simulate a stay for the entire month of March at the Alagoa Praia Tourist Apartments in Altura through Booking, you will see that the price of an apartment for four people is set at €900. This is an apartment with one bedroom, a living room, private bathroom, balcony and kitchenette.

Meanwhile, you could also spend your March at Apartamentos Honorio – Pool and Garden, in Vilamoura. In this case, the apartment is for just two people and the stay costs €1,063, if you make your reservation through Booking, as a start-of-year promotion is in effect.

The apartment in this hotel unit also has a private kitchen and, in this case, has two bedrooms. Please note, however, that the outdoor pool and restaurant are currently unavailable.

Currently, the rent for a 1-bedroom apartment in the cities of Lisbon and Porto is exceeding, on average, €1,200, according to advertisements published on Idealista. As for the Algarve region, rents for 1-bedroom apartments usually exceed €800.
