In a statement, ASAE says that a suspect was arrested and seven defendants were charged.
17 search warrants were served, including home searches, non-home searches and computer searches.
“One of the suspects used social media pages to promote and sell counterfeit items, which were then sent to various destinations in Portugal and abroad, using digital payment methods,” the statement said.
During the operation, 3,000 counterfeit items were seized, in addition to two computers, a CCTV disk, a cell phone, labels, metal plates and appliques.
Lighting and studio equipment were also seized, “used to carry out live broadcasts on social media, where counterfeit items were promoted for sale”.
The total seizures have an estimated value of €95,000.
