Leonel António Guerreiro, President of the Setúbal – Lisbon delegation of the France-Portugal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIFP), is leading the organization of the International Forum for SMEs – Digital Services and Solutions, scheduled for February 2025. This initiative aims to drive the growth and internationalization of Portuguese small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by providing them with digital tools and global networking opportunities.

With 27 years of experience in business, Leonel Guerreiro is a strong advocate for strengthening economic ties between Portugal and France. In an interview with Empreendedor, he emphasized the Forum's main objective:

"Our goal is to provide SMEs with three major opportunities: to gain knowledge, develop strategic partnerships, and access international markets through digital solutions."

An Event Dedicated to SME Development

Scheduled for February 21-22, 2025, the International Forum will take place at the Pestana Palace Hotel, offering two intensive days of conferences, expert-led workshops, and networking sessions.

According to Leonel Guerreiro, the event is structured around three fundamental pillars:

  • Education and Expertise: Conferences and workshops led by digital industry experts.
  • Strategic Networking: Featuring 25 exhibitors showcasing innovative solutions and potential partnerships.
  • International Expansion: Bringing together global entrepreneurs and specialists to support SMEs in reaching new markets.

"We aim for every participating business to leave with actionable solutions, valuable contacts, and concrete opportunities for international expansion. This is also a chance for highly skilled SMEs to position themselves beyond national borders." adds Leonel Guerreiro.

Digital Transformation as a Growth Engine

For Leonel Guerreiro, digitalization is an essential pathway for SMEs to establish themselves on the global stage.

"Digital technology streamlines processes, enhances communication, and, most importantly, makes internationalization more accessible. We want Portuguese SMEs to take full advantage of this potential." explains the President of the Setúbal – Lisbon delegation of the CCIFP.

This Forum is the first step in a broader strategy to reinforce economic connections between Portugal and France. In 2026, the CCIFP plans to support Portuguese SMEs in major French events, such as the Paris Real Estate Fair and initiatives linked to the Paris Olympic Games.

"We are building bridges between our two countries and creating real opportunities for businesses. The French market is full of possibilities for Portuguese SMEs that are ready to innovate and expand." concludes Leonel Guerreiro.

The organization of the 2025 International Forum reflects CCIFP's commitment to supporting Portuguese SMEs. Through innovative initiatives and an extensive international network, the Setúbal – Lisbon delegation continues to create new growth opportunities for entrepreneurs in an increasingly competitive business environment.
