The announcement was made by EGEAC - Lisbon's Cultural Equipment and Entertainment Management Company, the promoter of the event, and does not distinguish between participants. This way, anyone, regardless of age or nationality, can submit their sardine to the competition - either individually or in co-authorship.

"Encouraging the participation of all people, in the country and beyond, is the objective of this competition that annually rewards the originality of graphic proposals in the shape of sardines", can be read on the official EGEAC competition page.

Candidates can submit up to three entries on the competition platform, and these cannot contain any identifying elements of authorship or references to brands, events or logos. Furthermore, the shape must respect the traditional silhouette of the sardine.

"Originality, creativity, readability and adaptability to different communication materials will be decisive factors in choosing this year's five winning sardines", the promoter points out. Each of the winners will receive a prize of €1,500.

Winning proposals will be announced by May 31st.
