According to idealista, the area surrounding the Lagos Marina in the Algarve is undergoing redevelopment. The main reason for this transformation is the construction of two hotels by the DST, which will involve an investment of 107.8 million euros. These new hotels are scheduled to open in 2026.

The land located next to the Lagos marina was sold by Infraestruturas de Portugal to the Canadian group Mercan in February 2022. And now two Hilton brand hotels are being built there by the DST, which plans an investment of over 100 million euros, writes Expresso, cited by idealista.

Lagos Marina Hotel Curio Collection by Hilton: this new hotel will be a 5-star hotel with 180 rooms, a restaurant, two bars, a terrace and swimming pools. It will have a construction area of 14,776 square meters (m2)

Hilton Garden Inn Lagos: This 4-star hotel will have 90 rooms (27 of which are suites), a bar, a restaurant, a gym and an outdoor pool. The construction area will be 7,505 m2.

Hilton's two new hotels in Lagos will also have meeting spaces and offer more than 160 parking spaces, the same newspaper reveals. And there will also be around 2,000 m2 of outdoor space. In addition, another private company is also planning to transform the old train station into a café and restaurant.

In addition to the hotels and restaurants, the Lagos Railway Museum located in this area will also be renovated. And on the other side of the Lagos marina, new residential and commercial buildings will also be built, the same publication states.
