Between January and February, Tesla recorded a 50% drop in sales in Portugal.

So far, Tesla has sold 1,306 units, which contrasts with the first two months of 2024, when it sold 1,704. This year, Tesla sold 398 fewer vehicles, according to NM.
This phenomenon can be explained by the decline in the automotive market in general, in Portugal, but also by the European context. Across the continent, Tesla sales have been declining. In the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Sweden or Denmark, the drop in sales is more than 40%.

There are a number of reasons including the new model and the fact that BYDs are better and cheaper but over-arching them all is the antipathy towards Musk. Red necked Americans may continue to support him but to the rest of the world he is a self aggrandising eccentric imposing his will via the odious Trump and Tesla shareholders as well as all those who depend on the company for their living should be up in arms at his antics.

Nobody wants to support the bullies. Specially in well educated & advanced societies like Portugal and Europe in general. I used to be Musk fan (I even went to south florida to the first Space X launch), nevertheless the guy has shown his true colors and motives, so bye bye Tesla. Oh BTW he did not founded Tesla, he was just and early investor… so not credit for that either.

The persons who actually think the drop in Tesla sales is due to waiting for new model demonstrates the problem we have in the US and in Europe: those who think they are actually informed about truth when they limit their “knowledge” to right wing propaganda mills, such as Fox News, Newsmax and countless social media groups. There is a world-wide disgust of nazism that donald tRump, vance and Elon Musk are moving the world toward. That is the prime reason for Tesla sales to go down, along with failures of Tesla’s driverless car technology.

I wouldn´t drive a Tesla if you paid me to drive it. The odious Musk, the Nazi, who is slashing and burning the American workforce and economy for his own benefit. He has billions of US taxpayer money going to his companies. He is making sure his companies thrive, while the American people wilt. What a despicable excuse for a human being.

Is it just me or is The Portugal news quoting wrong numbers in their headline. Sales of 1306 against last years of 1704 would be just over a 23% reduction in sales. Not 50% as headlined. Tsk tsk Portugal news quoting wrong figures to make big headline.
