To this end, “association contracts will be signed with the social and pre-school sector, which will make 200 new classrooms possible”, the official indicated. Leitão Amaro argued that “the existing program”, implemented by the previous PS Government, “did not reach all families”. A survey carried out by the Executive concluded that “more than 10 thousand families, more than 10 thousand children did not have access to places”.
Over the next three years, “43 million euros” will be invested, which will have two components: “an initial incentive of 15 thousand euros to open a new room and an additional reinforcement” of 34 million euros”, to be paid to the social and private sector.
Leitão Amaro highlighted “the very significant effort” made by the Government “so that contracts can be signed and families can take all the necessary steps to enrol their children in time for the next school year”.
