According to Commander José Miranda, 45 incidents were recorded in the Greater Lisbon sub-region and 13 in the Setúbal Peninsula, with the remainder spread across other locations on the mainland.

According to the person in charge, since the beginning of the ANEPC yellow alert (at 00:00 today), among the total records, there were 52 collapses of structures, 42 fallen trees and only three occurrences due to flooding.

José Miranda indicated that “the wind factor was the most influential” in the incidents.

The official also added that “there was no material damage or injuries” and said that all incidents were “easy to resolve”.

The districts of Lisbon, Setúbal and Leiria have been under a yellow weather warning since 6:00 today due to heavy rain, then changing to orange and extending to Faro and Beja due to the passage of depression Martinho, according to data from the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA).

In addition to the rain, the depression will bring strong winds and waves until Thursday, especially in the Central and South regions.

On Tuesday, at a press conference, ANEPC warned of the worsening of the meteorological situation on the mainland in the coming days, with sometimes heavy rainfall, wind and rough seas.

The authority also reported, based on information from the Portuguese Environment Agency (APA), that between today and Thursday, in the urban basins of the Tagus, “there may be an increase in flows, with the possibility of flooding”.
