The north and south coasts of Madeira and Porto Santo will be affected by rough seas, with waves from the northwest measuring 4 to 4.5 metres expected between 09:00 on Wednesday and 15:00 on Thursday.

The IPMA also issued a yellow warning between midnight and 6am on Wednesday due to the forecast of sometimes heavy rain and between midnight and 6 pm on Wednesday due to winds from the west quadrant, with gusts of up to 80 kilometres per hour (km/h), especially in the extreme east and west of Madeira Island.

The mountainous regions of Madeira Island are also under a yellow warning between 00:00 and 06:00 on Wednesday due to heavy rain and between 00:00 and 18:00 on Wednesday due to westerly winds with gusts of up to 100 km/h.
