Located in the heart of Alvor, in the Algarve, we can find Ciao Baby Trattoria – Pizzeria. If you like pizza, or if you are a pasta lover, this is the best place for you to have dinner. Inside the restaurant or with take-away options, Ciao Baby is a hit with everyone who visits. In spite of being a pizzeria, let me say that it is wrong to think that there are no other types of food available, instead this is a place that will be fascinating to lovers of any culinary types. We ate Pasta Mare Costra, a dish for two, which was made up of spaghetti with mixed seafood covered with pizza dough and baked in the oven. The dish has seafood, including prawns, clams, mussels, etc and for anyone who loves seafood, it is a excellent choice. Believe me, it is worth going there just to try it out this dish alone.
And it doesn’t end here! The tastiest dish that we truly loved was the starter of Gamberi Fritti, we will certainly come back to try it again, it was delicious! Gamberi Fritti is fried spicy garlic prawns, and they were honestly the best fried prawns that I ever eaten in my life and are also available by takeaway which is also amazing. Quality and quantity is the motto that the restaurant follows. That is, all dishes are served in order to guarantee a quality of class and at the same time with large quantities that make everyone leave the restaurant satisfied.
A cozy environment
This is a perfect place to go as a couple, with the family or with a group of friends. Everyone is received by Renato and Bella who welcome us with all the friendliness and hygiene care that pandemic times require. So we can feel very comfortable and secure.
When we sit at the restaurant table, we can be fascinated by the picturesque décor that makes us feel closer to Italy, without losing the taste of Portugal that is maintained through the very typical tiles in the room. Also at the restaurant’s entrance, we are welcomed with two flags, one Portuguese and another Italian, making the perfect mix between these two wonderful European countries.
What can we eat?
At Ciao Baby we find a vast menu: the famous garlic bread, thin-crust pizzas, pastas, but also fish and meat dishes and risotto. Choosing is difficult, due to the various options. In Ciao Baby we are also able to find gluten free pizzas and vegetarian dishes.
There is no good food, without good wine and Ciao baby also offers good wine options to accompany the meal. The option we chose at dinner was the house wine which at Ciao Baby is an extraordinary wine, Quinta dos Passarinhos. This wine goes well with pasta and seafood. Additionally, they have options of Italian and Portuguese bottles of wines.
To finish the meal with something sweet
If you still have enough space. You can choose from some delicious fresh desserts, such as tiramisu, gelato, panacota, frutti di bosco, mousse di choccolato or profiterols.
Eat while giving
During the pandemic that we are going through, many restaurants suffered declines in their revenue, Ciao Baby wasn’t an exception. However, this didn’t prevent the restaurant from working to help those in need this Christmas with the Christmas Giving initiative which supports Castelo de Sonhos, in Silves. Until 19 December, when buying any pizza of your choice book using code “charity” for dining in or take away. For every pizza purchased €2 Euros will be donated to Castelo de Sonhos Christmas Hamper Project. A charity initiative filled with Christmas spirit which will allow people in need to have a Christmas meal.
