According to the National Maritime Authority (AMN), the water is currently improper for bathing.

“After receiving information from the Portuguese Environment Agency [APA], advising against bathing, the Captain of the Port of Olhão gave instructions to hoist the red flag on the beach, prohibiting entry to the water,” reads a note from AMN.

The authorities explain that the APA is monitoring the situation and that the ban will continue until the water results indicate that the microbiological values ​​are within the reference parameters.
