According to the Sub-Regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command of Beiras and Serra da Estrela, the snow that began to fall in the early evening of Thursday forced the closure of sections number 1 (Portela do Arão - Lagoa Comprida), 2 ( Lagoa Comprida – Sabugueiro), 11 (Piornos – Torre), 12 (Torre – Torre) and 13 (Torre - Lagoa Comprida).

The same source said that during the night section number 9, which connects Piornos to Manteigas, in the Guarda district, was also closed.

Forecasts point to continued snowfall throughout the day.
