The Independent Union of Police Agents (SIAP) has already announced that it will join the protest, which will take place from 17:00 between Largo de Camões and the Assembly of the Republic.

Among the problems highlighted are low salaries, an aging police force, and an overload of work, according to the ASPP.

The largest union of the Public Security Police justifies the demonstration “because the PSP maintains and worsens with each passing day, structural problems, which jeopardize the stability and functioning of the institution itself, trample the rights of professionals and harm the populations”.

The Lisbon Metropolitan Command (Cometlis) of the PSP has already indicated that due to the demonstration there will be traffic restrictions on Thursday, with bans on parking on the streets of São Bento and Correia Garção, and Calçada da Estrela.
