This position was transmitted by António Costa at a joint press conference with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, after being asked whether he admits a scenario of anticipation by one week of the restrictive measures to be applied in Lisbon due to the fact that the capital now has an incidence of new infections exceeding 240 per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days.
"All municipalities are equal. Lisbon will be no different from the other municipalities and will have exactly the same treatment," António Costa replied.
At the press conference, held at the Pavilhão do Conhecimento in Lisbon, the leader of the executive said that his Government makes a weekly assessment of the pandemic situation in each of the municipalities in the Council of Ministers.
"So, on Thursday (17 June), this assessment will be made again. And, depending on that assessment, we will take the necessary measures," he said.
Also according to the Prime Minister, following the last pandemic crisis in Portugal a Covid-19 risk matrix was built "with two key indicators".
"One has to do with the incidence rate and the other with the rate of transmission through the Rt factor. And it is on the basis of these variations that we will apply the measures envisaged in each of the municipalities," he added.
