Grant Shapps today at the COVID-19 downing street press conference announced the first "tentative steps to unlock international travel" saying also that travel is crucial to rebuilding the British economy. Saying that Britian's success in vacinating their population has not been duplicated across the globe. We must make sure the countries we re-connect with have safe and secure surveillance in place and acceptable virus infection rates and vaccination programs.

People arriving in England from one of these countries will need a negative pre-departure Covid test, and will have not have to isolate upon their return. After the second day back in the UK they will need to take and PCR Covid test.

A negative pre-departure test is also required and upon return they will have to isolate for 10 days, taking PCR tests on day two and day eight. The option of the test to release system, taking a test on day five, can lead to an immediate end of quarantine with a negative result.
