Portugal has received 3 billion euros from the European Union to support economic recovery and save jobs amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Prime Minister António Costa said in a message published on his Twitter account the fund is going to finance measures to support workers who lost their jobs and were put on layoff, as well as independent entrepreneurs hampered by the isolation measures to contain the pandemic. The total amount of loan fund that Portugal will receive from the EU’s SURE programme is 5.9 billion euros.

Good Evening I hope this finds you all well safe in these difficult times and we thank you for keeping us all up to date with the news. After reading the article I have a question if the government is receiving this from the European community and with the population being the following. The current population of Portugal is 10,184,130 as of Wednesday, December 2, 2020, based on Worldometer elaboration of the latest United Nations data. I would think that depending on the interest rates and the timelines that are needed to be paid back the government could allocate to all of the population the following and still earn on taxes for the future. 10,184,130 x 200,000 = 2,036,826,000 This taken into account that received even more from the European in the billions before this allocation if the government is real and wants to help its people go forth these types of measure need to be thought about not the promises that are empty-handed and promised and nothing comes of it watching everything come crashing down and watching the family's in poverty and those that once stood going the same way while they bail out the firms that have never cared once for the little people but only themselves. Well, this is great news for Portuguese poblic included diaspora and refugees people. But I'm much more upset about unemployment benefit system ... As my experience * República Portuguesa* government makes different laws and rules for pandemic health and standard period unemployment benefits policy . But most of the immigrant communities and refuges inefficient for social benefit becouse of : 1. complicated work contract. 2. Language barrier 3.Poor customer service 4. Time of Pandemic and job crisis etc.

We need to do what the Brits did and leave the EU. This is a dictactorship organisation without representation that keeps on pumping money to the elites in their respective countries and leaving its citizens to pick up the bill! These 3 billion will go to the pocket of corrupt politicians and the elites, nothing will reach the real economy! We tax payers still need to pay the bill! What’s the point of being in the EU!
