The over-50s will start to be vaccinated first; a week later jabs will start to be given to the over-40s, and one week later the over-30s.
The objective, according to reports, is to take advantage of Johnson & Johnson's vaccines for the over-50s, and use Pfizer and Moderna for other age groups.
The main goal is to achieve group immunity as quickly as possible.

I must admit that I will only believe it when I see it. So far, the vaccination has been woefully slow in Porto.

The pace of vaccination has been varied across the country. In the Algarve most people in the age group 60 to 79 have only received the first dose. The interval between the 1st and the 2nd can be up to 12 weeks, so we will be at the start of autumn before the majority of adult population in this region will get full protection from the vaccine.

That's good news.
I am interested in whether I can also get vaccinated as e.g. a tourist in Portugal or whether this is only intended for the locals in the respective European countries.
It is definitely good news for Portugal. That seems to be better solved here in Portugal than in many other European countries. However, I also see the need behind this due to the resurgent tourism in Portugal.

Why are you not allowed to chose which vaccine you are give???. It should be your right to chose and not to be told what you are going to be injected with regardless.
