Today, four more people are hospitalised, out of a total of 778, with three fewer people in intensive care units, where there are now 171 patients with covid-19.
Most of the new infections are distributed in the Lisbon and Vale do Tejo area (41.1%) and in the North (36.7%).
Since the beginning of the pandemic, 923,747 people have been diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2.
The seven deaths in the last 24 hours were registered in the regions of Lisbon (three), Algarve (two) and North (two).
According to data from the DGS, until now, 17,194 victims of covid-19 have died in Portugal: 9,028 men and 8,166 women.
According to the health authority, Portugal now has 49,445 active cases (969 more).
The number of contacts under surveillance is 79,625, plus 944 in the last 24 hours.
With over 1,460 infections in the last 24 hours, the region of Lisbon and Vale do Tejo now counts 361,131 cases of infection, followed closely by the North, where 1,305 new cases were registered, totalling 358,796, says the DGS.
In the Centre there were 304 new cases (125,867 in total), in the Alentejo there are another 105 cases (32,182 in total), in the Algarve 302 new infections (total 28,871), in Madeira 21 new cases (10,170) and in the Azores another 50, for a total of 6,730.
Lisbon and Vale do Tejo is the region with the most deaths (7,328), followed by the North (5,379), the Center (3,034), the Alentejo (976), the Algarve (373), Madeira (70) and the Azores (34).
The regional authorities of the Azores and Madeira publish their data daily, which may not coincide with the information provided in the DGS bulletin.
