Workers at the Faro Postal Distribution Center (CDP), decided to postpone the two-hour stoppage scheduled to start on Monday, claiming that CTT has placed “a technician to monitor and assess the working conditions” of postmen.
“The company put a technician to accompany the workers and do not want to be accused of not having given the company a last chance to resolve the situation”, said José Oliveira, leader of the National Union of Postal and Telecommunications Workers (SNTCT).
The same source recalled that the postmen are demanding the hiring of six more professionals to ensure distribution in Faro and “will meet again in plenary on January 31 to confirm the strike or cancel it”.
I wish the Postal staff all the best in the resolution of their dispute to a fair outcome. Hopefully it might improve the morality of a system that took 7 months to deliver a letter to me from the UK and in the same bunch of mail a council tax bill that was dated 3 months prior to delivery.
