According to the official, this decision would promote hassle-free travel to tourist destinations and, at the same time, help to increase economic recovery to global level this summer.
“The problem is that the digital solutions for Covid were uncoordinated”, stressed Simpson, adding that “nations created their own rules to face the pandemic and, despite global leaders asking for harmonisation, we have numerous systems that impact the trust of the travellers with expensive tests and constant rule changes.”
According to the WTTC executive, to survive yet another pandemic, a traveller’s health status must be fully integrated into their digital travel documents, highlighting that a good example is the EU’s Covid Digital Certificate, now approved by 62 countries.
It was also highlighted the need for speed in the decision to implement the certificate, as the European Parliament approved the document on June 9, 2021 to implement it on July 1, 2021, that is, less than a month later.
Great, more WEF top-down authoritarianism is just what we needed.

Good on you Julia!!!
I think a international Covid-19 pass is a wonderful idea.
Hopefully it can be set up by the big pharmaceutical companies.. who are so much more profit efficient than those pesky democratically elected governments around the world, who just let the people make policy..
In fact why don’t we just let a large amalgamation of multi-Nationals join in and thus remove the need for passports at all..The Pass could decide if you were worthy enough to travel based on spending.
But as I’m getting older and keep forever forgetting things.. I’ll like a QR code tattooed to my forehead.
Would be so economically sensible.

Strange how those that cannot think for themselves love the idea of being controlled by the government, we should grant their wish and tattoo a scan code on their forehead so others can see who these sheep are.

A brilliant idea please can the Portuguese authorities accept all vaccination certificates in the meantime if they include the relevant details and an accepted vaccine. From South Africa, with tiny numbers of covid cases, and with 3Pfizer vaccinations my certificate is not in the list of those accepted! Why? As a Brit living in South Africa I have been impressed by how efficient our system of vaccination was yet I see other countries, Rwanda, Kenya etc etc allowed but not SA ? Madness and illogical.

I can't understand why Portugal won't accept the Covid Vaccine certificate from the US CDC!

Agenda 2030/WEF agenda nonsense. I've already got a passport and I don't need another one. Also I'm in very good health because I boost my immune system with healthy foods, herbs, spices, superfoods and so on. No Thanks

I agree with Aju from Beiras! No thanks, from me too!
