The GDP of Portugal grew 11.6% in Q1 of 2022, the highest rate in the EU, according to new figures from Eurostat.
The same figures for the eurozone and European Union grew 5.4% and 5.6% in the same period, respectively, despite the economic toll of the war in Ukraine.
According to the EU statistical office, the quarter-on-quarter growth rate of GDP in the eurozone was 0.6% and 0.7% between January and March, after having risen by 0.2% and 0.5% in the last three months of 2021.
I hope that they will raise wages and pensions accordingly, after all, that is what they promised. With electricity and gas up, the people really need help, and now is the time for companies to pay better. Most are making unprecedented profits and can afford it. The smaller businesses can be helped. It's ridiculous that they're paid so little.
