In the district of Bragança, the municipalities of Mirandela, Vimioso, Macedo de Cavaleiros, Mogadouro, Freixo de Espada à Cinta, Bragança and Alfandega da Fé are under this IPMA alert.
The municipalities of Arganil, Tábua, Oliveira do Hospital, Pampilhosa da Serra and Góis, in the district of Coimbra, and the municipalities of Fundão, Covilhã, Penamacor, Belmonte, Castelo Branco, Proença-a-Nova, Penalva do Castelo, Oleiros, Sertã, Vila de Rei and Vila Velha de Ródão, in the district of Castelo Branco.
The IPMA placed under the same alert, in the district of Viseu, the municipalities of Armamar, Penedono, Tabuaço, Meda, São João da Pesqueira, Moimenta da Beira, Sernancelhe, Nelas and Carregal do Sal, and in the district of Guarda, the municipalities of Vila Nova de Foz Coa, Pinhel, Almeida, Guarda, Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo, Algodres and Manteigas Poço do Inferno and Seia.
In the district of Santarém, the municipalities of Constância, Abrantes, Sardoal, Mação, Ferreira do Zêzere, Tomar, Vila Nova da Barquinha and Chamusca are also at maximum risk of fire.
The IPMA also put the municipalities of Nisa, Portalegre, Gavião, Castelo de Vide and Marvão, in the district of Portalegre, and the municipalities of Loulé, São Brás de Alportel, Tavira, Loulé and Alcoutim in the district of Faro, at maximum risk of fire.
According to information published on the institute's website, several municipalities in the districts of Faro, Beja, Évora, Portalegre, Castelo Branco, Santarém, Leiria, Guarda, Viseu Bragança, Braga and Vila Real are at very high risk of fire.
Today the maximum predicted temperatures will fluctuate between 27 degrees Celsius in Sagres, Sines and Viana do Castelo and 39 degrees in Évora.
Those people only have themselves to blame. There are constant yard fires even on the windiest of days in the Algarve. Nobody complies with the laws and nobody cares. Let it all burn so the government can go crying to Brussels begging for money. Disgraceful.
