According to the District Relief Operations Command (CDOS) of Faro, the fire, which broke out around 1:00 pm, “is progressing near to the village of Fica Bem, in a wooded area, without, for now, threatening homes”.

According to data available on the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority (ANPC) website, at 16:35, 329 personnel were involved in fighting the flames, with the support of 105 vehicles and nine air assets.

The district of Faro is today on red alert due to the risk of fire.
