The championship kicks off on March 5, in Bahrain, and ends
on November 26 in Abu Dhabi, making this the second consecutive year that
Portugal has been left off of the world calendar.
The 2023 Formula 1 World Cup calendar was approved by the
World Council of the International Automobile Federation (FIA) with a historic
maximum of 24 races.
After hosting the championship in 2021 due to changes in the
calendar caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, Portugal has been left out of the
world calendar for the second year in a row.
The 2023 season will have 24 races, the most races ever held
in a season, with the inclusion of a third Grand Prix in the United States of
America, in Las Vegas, in addition to those in Miami and Austin (United States
GP).
The Monaco GP, which was in doubt, remains on the calendar
on 28 May.
The Qatar GP returns, on October 8, after a year's absence,
as does the Chinese GP.
"The presence of 24 races on the 2023 calendar is
testament to the growth of this sport on a global scale. The inclusion of new
circuits and the maintenance of some of the traditional ones underlines the
FIA's commitment to Formula 1," said the FIA President, Mohammed Ben
Sulayem.
Who cares, F1 is an obsolete sport anyway, I liked it a lot but we should think... F-E is the sport to follow now, and to organize. Portugal should get them and host electric F1 instead.
