According to a report by CM, this morning (2 November) saw long
queues at several health centres across the country. This appears to be the
biggest problem at the beginning of each month, with the lack of doctors being
highlighted as one of the main causes of the queues.
CM reports that dozens of patients had been waiting since
dawn to be able to schedule an emergency consultation. In the case of the
health center in Algueirão-Mem-Martins, patients have been waiting since 5:00am
to be able to make an appointment for the month of November, and many of them
do not have a family doctor. At the health centre in question, users complain
about a lack of information and that many of them have to leave without
managing to schedule an appointment.
The Odivelas health centre had a very similar scenario. The
queue started at 4:00am and it was only at around 9:00am that appointments began
to be distributed.
Apparently the Government does not have the will to address and fix problems with the SNS. Quite sad.

I can't believe that we're actually living in a European country. This is 3rd world level care.

Well at it is more astonish is that despite I live in Sintra center 12 minutes from the health center they don't want to know . I did start living in Sintra at 29 July 2019 and request my transference from the previous health center and been waiting until this day in a waiting list that neither the are capable to inform people about their position. If this waiting list exist at all ? They want people to register in Mem Martins or get the train to Cacem and I will not be doing that . I will not register in Mem Martins only because when Sintra was vacancy they will be saying you are registered their you can't use this health center. They must thinking that people are idiots ? If I live 12 minutes from my supposed health center why I need to take a train ? The other thing is years ago this health center in Sintra decide to allow the people that left to other councils to continue to use this health center when they have health centers where they live and they are taking the places to the people that real live in Sintra . They are incapable o cheque the address of people to see with real people live in Sintra . In the end of the day shows very well that they only care about the people that live outside the residents that live in Sintra can go to hell .

My wife visited our local Ventre de Saude (Moncarapacho) to get registered and was told that she could only register when someone dies. There seems to be no validation of people on their register as we know people that have sold up and left Portugal that are still on their lists.
