These four districts in the south of mainland Portugal will be under warning between 3am and 6pm on Thursday.
The IPMA has also placed the district of Faro under a yellow warning due to strong winds, with gusts of around 70 kilometres per hour (km/h), especially on the coastal strip, between 12 pm and 6 pm on Thursday.
Guarda and Castelo Branco are also under a yellow warning, but because of snowfall above 1,500 meters between 12 pm today and midnight on Thursday.
The IPMA also issued a yellow warning for the districts of Lisbon, Leiria, Beja and Coimbra due to rough seas between midnight and 12 noon on Friday.
Due to the swell, Faro will be under a yellow warning between 3pm on Thursday and midnight on Friday and between midnight and 12pm on Friday, with waves forecast from the northwest measuring 4 to 4.5 meters.
The Madeira archipelago will also be under a yellow warning due to the forecast of strong winds with gusts of up to 90 km/h between 3 pm today and 3 pm on Thursday.
In the mountainous regions of Madeira Island, the wind warning with gusts of up to 120 km/h will be in force between 6:00 pm today and 12:00 pm on Thursday.
The north coast and mountainous regions of Madeira Island and Porto Santo Island will be under an orange warning due to rough seas between 9:00 pm today and 2:00 pm on Thursday, then changing to yellow, with winds expected to reach 5 to 6 meters in the northwest.
The orange warning indicates a moderate to high-risk meteorological situation and the yellow warning indicates a risk for certain activities dependent on the meteorological situation.
According to information provided by IPMA, the worsening weather conditions are associated with the Konrad depression, which will be centred today to the west of the Iberian Peninsula and north of the Madeira archipelago.
