"From November 22, 2022, all express transport services
allocated to the Campo 24 de Agosto Terminal will move to the Campanhã
Intermodal Terminal (TIC), in Porto", reads a statement from the bus company
published on Facebook.
Rede Expressos adds that "it is no longer possible to
buy tickets with trips to be made from the 22nd of November, going to/returning
to the Campo 24 de Agosto Terminal".
The Rede Expressos bus station started, on August 1, its
operation at the Campanhã Intermodal Terminal (TIC), in Porto, with 10 daily
frequencies to destinations in the north of the country and to Lisbon, an
official source told Lusa.
On October 21, Transdev, owner of the Campo 24 de Agosto bus
terminal, in Porto, told Lusa that it would "soon" announce changes
to the operation at the location, referring to "changes that will take place
within a few weeks".
Lusa also asked when the possible closure would be expected,
where the bus traffic from the terminal would be directed, if the new Campanhã
Intermodal Terminal would be a possibility to host the services and what are
the reasons for the possible closure.
In the response to Lusa, the operator states that "STCP
Serviços, Transdev and Rede Expressos are working together to optimize public
transport flows in the city, in order to offer the populations better quality
of service and greater efficiency in operation" .
The Campo 24 de Agosto Bus Terminal opened in May 2017.
