The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MAI), states that the collaboration between the PSP and SEF has contributed “to guarantee greater effectiveness and efficiency in the control procedures when crossing air borders”.
“This resulted, among other aspects, in a maximum average waiting time of 42 minutes by passengers in the border control area of airports between 05:00 and 07:15 – a period that coincides with the arrival peak of passengers” according to MAI

The queues yesterday at Faro airport arrivals were amongst the longest I have seen, the elevators had to be switched off to prevent a pile up at the bottom. If this is a sign of what is to come for the summer then its going to be messy

Arrived at Faro airport 12 February at 10.30.from Bristol. It was chaos. Much discontent. Preference appeared to be given to Irish flights. Many Automatic gates were not working. A few U.K. persons went under barriers to try to use automatic gates. One border guard refused to accept U.K. arrivals even though floor walker directed us. We were not made to feel welcome. Spain next year?
