In 2023, in the case of open-ended teleworking contracts, there are records of more than 3,000 contracts under these circumstances. The number also increases in the case of fixed-term contracts.
According to ECO, which relies on data from the Strategy and Planning Office (GEP) of the Ministry of Labour, of the almost 3.3 million employees registered in Portugal in 2023, around 2.3 million had permanent contracts.
