April is going to be a hard month for those who usually use CP - Comboios de Portugal services to travel. The company's train drivers have called a strike between 1 and 30 April. The strike will affect travel over Easter, but FlixBus will increase the supply of buses during this period.

The announcement of the strike by TAP pilots (which has since been called off) and the strike by railway workers has increased demand for buses by about 50 percent, especially for trips to Spain. To respond to the increase in requests, the German company decided to reinforce all connections between the two countries.

Among the most sought-after routes are the Porto-Vigo, Santiago de Compostela and Madrid connections. From Lisbon, the international connections to Madrid and Seville stand out, while in the Algarve trips from Albufeira and Faro to Seville are the ones that have seen the biggest increase in bookings in recent days. Bus tickets from the capital to Madrid, for example, start at €29.99.

FlixBus will also expand operations on the Portuguese routes, with a 15 percent increase in the number of buses, with extra reinforcement of connections to the Algarve, Évora, Fátima and Braga. The route from Porto to Lisbon will have 76 daily trips during the Easter period, with prices from 4,99 euros.
