In a statement, the National Republican Guard (GNR) said that the operation "Campo Seguro 2023", which ends on 31 December, aims to increase patrolling, surveillance and awareness in agricultural and forestry holdings throughout the country, to prevent crime in general and theft in particular, as well as possible situations of human trafficking.
GNR also intends to raise awareness among the population in general and the rural population, in particular, to adopt behaviours to prevent situations of theft of agricultural products, copper and other non-precious metals and the safe use of agricultural and forestry vehicles.
"Awareness-raising actions aimed at users of tractors and agricultural machinery will be carried out, with the aim of enforcing safety rules and preventing accidents" the GNR said.
