For each strike day, up to 12,600 flights across Europe could be delayed or cancelled. For the entire month of July and the first half of August, an average of around 33,000 air connections are scheduled. The numbers will be confirmed next week when the strike notice is formalised.
Tourist agents had already warned of another complicated summer in aviation, with air traffic controllers overloaded with work, especially at the airports of Athens, Budapest, Reims and Marseille.
The issue with ATC strikes is it's considered extraordinary circumstances which devoids passengers of any compensation rights.

No private sector organisation would survive such demands. Time to ban strikes in essential public sector organisations. Don't like the salary? Find a different job.
